Ben Williamson (BW): I grew up working alongside my father, working horses and cattle. I knew then that I wanted to be a campdrafter.

WR: How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

BW: Caring, Happy, Loving, Cheeky & Good Looking, *laughs*

WR: Who have been your biggest influences?

BW: For me it’s been Terry Hall, my uncle Mac Williamson & my cousin Tom Williamson.

WR: Most memorable moment in Campdrafting?

BW: Winning the Clermont Gold Cup Novice in 2021 on our wonderful mare Lady Duck, after a runoff with some of the best competitors in the world.

WR: Tell us a Fun Fact about you?

BW: I love training my horses and training my working dogs.

WR: What advice would you like to give the younger generations starting out in campdrafting?

BW: Warm your horse up, get to the cut out yard to watch your cattle and most importantly ride safe.

WR: What is your best fashion tip?

BW: Check shirt, pair of jeans and cowboy boots.

WR: What’s coming up for the remainder of 2023?

BW: I hope to get to a dozen drafts for the year, including the big three. And hopefully do well on my team of horses.
